Abu Dhabi is one of the cities that make up the United Arab Emirates. When it comes to tourism, Dubai, another one of the seven emirates, is probably the most popular but Abu Dhabi is also holding its own. Abu Dhabi is also the political center of UAE because it is the capital.

There are many things to do in Abu Dhabi. You can experience both the pleasures of being in the city and in the desert. You can go to huge shopping malls, ride camels, go desert camping, visit skyscrapers, and stay in luxurious hotels. You will be impressed by the rich contrast of city and desert living.

Your first stop should be at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. You are probably wondering who is Sheikh Zayed? He was the first president of the UAE and the mosque was named after him to pay tribute. This is an imposing structure which can accommodate 40,000 worshippers. It is very big and it has the largest carpet in the world, which measures 5,000 square meters. This mosque is open to non-Muslims. You can visit the mosque with the assistance of a tour guide.

To fully experience desert culture, you should watch the famous camel race held at the Al Wathba Camel Track. Or you can drive to the world’s largest oasis town—the Al Ain Oasis. And if these are not enough, you can camp in the vastness of the desert at night. You can experience all of these in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
