Beef Island is a small island which is a part of Tortola in British Virgin Islands. It is the gateway to the Islands if you go there by airplane because it houses the major commercial airport that serves the whole British Virgin Islands.

Just like all the islands in British Virgin Islands, Beef Island also boasts beautiful beaches with crystal clear water that provides a perfect background for picture taking sessions with your family and friends. But one of the main attractions of Beef Island, British Virgin Islands is its main town, Trellis Bay. You can do a lot of things in Trellis Bay. For one, you can go snorkelling to see amazing marine life that hides underwater. You will see sea grass, corals, and colourful fish and sea creatures like rays and tortoises. And the good thing about snorkelling in Trellis Bay is that there is very little boat traffic. You can also try windsurfing, kayaking, kitesurfing, and kiteboarding, to name a few.

Aside from these exciting water activates, you can also spend a quiet time just wandering along the streets of Trellis Bay. You can do people watching and window shopping. If you are the artsy type, you will enjoy Aragorn Art Studio that features sculptures made of metal. There are also art galleries that feature colourful paintings done by local people. One interesting fact about Beef Island, British Virgin Islands or about Tortola is that most festivities happen in full moon. Full moon gives an air of mystery and drama to any festivity or event happening in the island.
