Summer is definietly the best time to visit if you are going to hike. yes, there are more people, but the weather is beautiful. Last year there was still complications in mid-june, with snow, and Yosemite is good all around. There is much more things to do than just hike, and the views and amazing. It feels other-worldly and it is my favorite place i have visited to date.

I am not sure I agree with summer being the best time to visit. If possible, I would suggest you visit in the spring when the runoff makes the falls the most spectacular. Also, the crowds are a little bit smaller then. Acre for acre, the valley floor is the most amazing place in the park, but outlying areas are also beautiful.
