If you want a cool weekend getaway or a non-scorching summer vacation, then Santa Rosa de Copan in Honduras is the place to visit. Located in the Western region of the country and nestled in the mountains, Santa Rosa de Copan promises tourists a very cool mountain climate, and interesting scenes of fine colonial architecture starting of with narrow cobbled streets and colonial style houses.

Santa Rosa is rich in cultural heritage and its historical center has been declared a national monument of Honduras. The city offers tourists plenty of hotels, restaurants, a cinema, and exciting night life, and super fun day tours. The Celaque National Park is a great place to visit. A tour to this wide and beautiful park can be coupled with a trip to Gracias and the hot springs, and the Corquin and Belen Gualcho, which embarks a grand church and some of the best Sunday markets in all of Honduras. Horseback and walking tours are available in the Dulce Nombre, which also have trails leading to inviting wetlands possible for swimming. The Reserva de Vida Silvestre Puca is a cloud forest reserve that also boasts of great scenes.

Historic sites include the Hospital de Occidente, Hospicio Amparo San Antonio, Flor de Copan, Edificio de la Casa de Cultura (cultural palace) , Mercado central and a lot more. Santa Rosa de Copan also boasts of great artisan crafts that will really amaze tourists. Ironwork, pottery, cigars, tanneries, wood shops and leather products are only a few of the craftsmanship that the city boasts of. Its leather goods made into belts, saddles, bags, key chains and what not have become signature products and staple souvenirs.
