Nisantasi is a neighborhood that is in the Sisli district which is the European area of Istanbul. It consists of neighborhoods such as Pangalti,Tesvikiye, Osmanbey, and Maçka. This area is a residential and popular shopping location. It is one of the city’s most exclusive neighborhoods.
History
This area was first settled by the Sultan Abdülmecid I in the middle part of the nineteenth century. He had two obelisks erected to establish the starting point and also the ending point for this area. Before long, the area was filled with merchants and residents.

Many of Istanbul’s best doctors have their offices here. There are also many upscale businesses in this district such as art dealers and architectural firms. Several famous citizens of Turkey reside in Nisantasi. There are several luxurious hotels in the area as well.

The location has many popular European cafés, restaurants, pubs, and night clubs. This is where many high-end stores are located such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and many other famous international luxury brands. For visitors staying at the beautiful Nisantasi House Hotel, they will be sleeping right over the Prada store. Attiye Street has many chic whitewashed restaurants and cafes that are open for lunch and dinner.
Abdi Ipekçi Street is Istanbul’s most high-priced shopping street when it comes to lease prices and it extends from the Tesvikiye and Maçka neighborhoods to the middle area of Nisantasi. Traveling around this area of the city is easy because there is a wonderful metro line, as well as many city buses.
This place is quite busy throughout the day, particularly during the week. Things get a bit calmer in the evening which makes it ideal for dining and shopping. This location is definitely on the pricey side, but there are many places to dine that are very reasonable considering that this is a large city. In nearby districts, there are several wonderful museums to visit as well.
