The Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall is located in Bangkok, Thailand. The building used to be a reception hall, but it is no longer used as one. It is now a museum that is open to the public. The Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall is two stories tall and has a very large dome in the center. One will also notice that the large dome is actually surrounded by six smaller domes. The walls are filled with paintings that were created by Galileo Chini and Carlo Riguli. The paintings show what it was like when the Chakri Dynasty ruled the country. There are many masterpieces inside the museum, so art lovers will be in for a treat when they visit the museum.
The Structure
The building was created by architects Annibale Rigotti and Mario Tamagno. It has an Italian Renaissance and Neo Classical style. A lot of marble from Italy was shipped in to help create the Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall. The building was completed in 1915.
Hours and Days of Operation
The museum is closed on Mondays and certain holidays. Guests can visit the museum between 10 AM and 6 PM; however, the latest you can purchase tickets is at 5 PM.
Other Information
The Throne Hall requires proper attire for admittance. This means long sleeve shirts and trousers for men and long skirts for women. Cell phones and cameras are required to be left in lockers that are available free of charge.
