Andorra La Vella is the capital of Andorra and is a popular tourist destination for ski fanatics. Because of its high elevation (3,360 ft), the temperature in Andorra La Vella is mostly cool; from 30.2 degrees Fahrenheit during colder months to 68 degrees during summer. While skiing is the reason why most people visit Andorra’s capital, there are many other destinations and activities this city has to offer.

• Due to the low tax imposed on goods, you can find high quality items for a much cheaper price in Andorra La Vella. Both men and woman will enjoy shopping in the capital because of the wide range of goods, particularly jewelry and gadgets, sold in various shops.
• If you’re a fan of Italian food and seafood, you’ll love eating here. A lot of restaurants serve Italian cuisine such as pasta and pizza. What’s more is that most restaurants have reasonable prices. Just to make sure to eat early because the restaurants close at 10.
• The city is very alive at night. Most bars are open until 4:00am so you can find plenty of places to visit. Even though many bars and pubs stay open til morning, most people in the capital don’t have that “drink till you pass out” attitude.
• If you want some R&R you can visit the Caldea. It is a building complex with spa and sauna. You can also get a panoramic view of the city from here because it’s located at the top of Andorra La Vella.

Umm Al Qaiwain

Map of Umm Al Qaiwain, United Arab Emirates

When people plan to visit the United Arab Emirates, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are at the top of their list. But you should also visit the lesser known emirates because they also have a lot to offer to visiting tourists.

Umm Al Qawain is the second smallest emirate in UAE, next to Ajman. In terms of population, it has the least number of people. The people who live here rely on fishing for their livelihood, unlike the modern Dubai and Abu Dhabi which mainly depend on commercial and business establishments. Umm Al Qawain has also been considered a modern state in the past several decades.

• If you want to swim, play water sports, and just basically have fun, you should visit Dreamland Aqua Park. You should try the famous “Twister,” in which you have to ride on a slide with a bowl at the end. While in the bowl, you will spin slowly until you reach the bottom. “Dragons” are not for the faint hearted or for very young children because it is dark and can become very fast.
• You should also go to the Residence of Sheikhs. However, you might be disappointed because you will not see the palace itself but only the park. But it is still worth it because the place is very significant for the people of Umm Al Qawain.
• Just like in all emirates, there is also a mosque in Umm Al Qawain—the Sheikh Zayed Umm Al Qawain Mosque. You will not be able to enter the mosque if you are not a Muslim but the view alone will take your breath away.

Mykonos, Greece is a famous tourist destination. Its primary communities are Ano Mera and Chora. The little village of Ano Mera is located on the center of the island and is where the Panagia Tourliani monastery is found. Chora, on the other hand, is where the houses, churches, shops, restaurants, and bars are found. But its traditional architectural styles are still well preserved. Mykonos is also a popular gay district. It has several gay bars, as well as, nightclubs. However, the best time to go here are on the months of May and June. September until mid-October is also a good time, since July through August is really crowded and busy.

Then, tourists can go around on foot, by bus, by motorbike, or by car. Taxis are extremely rare in this area. In fact, only roughly thirty taxis are available. Touring by means of a boat is a very good option. The Plati Yalos Boat Service offers a fun and good way to get to Mykonos’ southern beaches. Tourists can also see the windmills and Little Venice. Or they can visit the church of Panagia Paraportianí. Museums are quite abundant, as well. But all of them are only open on the months of April until October, with the exception of the Archaeological Museum which can be visited any time of the year. Nevertheless, wonderful beaches are all over Mykonos. Most of them are lined with assorted taverns, as well as, restaurants. Also, nude swimmers are fairly common on these beaches.

Paradise beach is perhaps the most well-known on the island. Camping areas, snack bars, clubs, and self-service restaurants are found here. Three other popular beaches are Psarou, which is patronized by the Greeks; Kalafati, which is a favorite of windsurfers; and Agios Stefanos, is a fine, sandy beach that becomes really crowded during the summer. Then, Ornos, a tourist and family beach, is good for surfing and sea-skiing. Platys Gialos is a tourist and family beach, as well. And since Mykonos is gay-friendly, lots of beaches are popular among the gay people. But majority of them are not exclusively gay beaches, however. Elia, for instance, is a very large beach and popular to gays. But the small and rocky beach between Agrari and Elia is their most favorite. Gays also love Super Paradise and Paranga beaches. And when the tourists get hungry, they can try souvlakis and gyros from the restaurants that line the beaches. Grilled fish, meats, vegetables, and salads are also commonly served.

Hammamet

The Gulf of Hammamet is home to the finest beach resorts in North Africa. The sandy, sparkling beaches in Hammamet seem like an endless stretch, making them ideal for tourists who are fond of swimming. The beach resorts point to the south, which allow visitors to gaze at the sea while sun bathing. Surprisingly, Hammamet’s beaches rarely get crowded even if thousands of visitors visit it every year.

An unforgettable vacation should include other things besides the beach such as sightseeing, water sports, exhibitions, and festivals—and these are just what Hammamet’s beaches offer.

Found between Tunis and Sousse, Hammamet is not just about beaches. As popular as the wide sandy beaches is the nightlife in Hammamet. A variety of discos and bars await travelers, allowing them to enjoy the night and still feel safe.

The must-see attractions in the town include the Hammams or Arab baths and the Medina with a huge mosque. Artisans working on pottery also welcome tourists in Hammamet, which is the center of pottery in the country. You can also find some streets lined with small shops that sell affordable souvenirs such as pottery, carpets, embroidery, and perfumes. Cafes, restaurants, and upscale boutiques fill the town’s modern shopping spot, so visitors have many choices whenever they want to kill time or eat some good food.

If you plan to take a trip to Hammamet, you have to know when the right time is for making hotel reservations, lest you’ll have no place to stay for the night. In winter, most hotels close, while in summer, most of them are fully booked. The best time to book a hotel is in early autumn and late spring. Although there is a wide selection of hotels in the area, it is recommended that you go for the middle range to be able to get the best hotel deals.
